Boys Hockey.

Monticello 3, Cambridge I 2. Carter Lemke scored the tying goal, and then the winning goal at the 1:19 mark of overtime as the moose rallied past the Bluejackets.

STMA 9, Roseau 1. Easton Monahan led the Knights scoring barrage with three goals and two assists.

Delano 102, Big Lake 93. Five players scored in double figures, led by Nate Nielson with 25 points as the Tigers outlasted the Hornets in overtime.

Rockford 77, Milaca 56.

Girls Basketball.

Brainerd 60, Buffalo 38. Brianna Eggers scored half the Bison points with 19.

Mora 64, Howard Lake WW 49.

Saturday, January 3rd.

Boys Basketball.

Buffalo 88, Bemidji 69. Thomas Jordan (26) and Eli Hegle (24) combined for 50 points as the Bison remained undefeated with a home win over the Lumberjacks on Saturday.

Willmar 66, Monticello 62. Carson Deibele was the high scorer for the Magic with 25.

Annandale 83, Holdingford 75. Colton Purcell led a balanced Cards attack with 20 points in a key road win for Annandale.

Moorhead 84, STMA 59. David Mack scored 23 points as the Spuds defeated the Knights in a rematch of last year’s Section 8AAAA final.

Howard Lake WW 76, Sibley East 49.

STMA 85, Moorhead 56.

Monticello 68, Willmar 30. Samantha Voll (15 points), Madelyn Barrow (13) and Abby Ruda (12) all scored in double figures as the Magic rolled to the win on Saturday.

Delano 4, Breck 3. Brody Greislinger netted the winning goal late in the third period as the Tigers won a key section game over Breck on Saturday. Daniel Halonen scored two goals and had an assist for the Tigers.

STMA 6, Bemidji 2. The Knights had a great weekend capped off with a win over Bemidji at home. Caden Clark scored two goals for STMA.

Sartell 2, Buffalo 1. Russell Ylitalo scored the lone Bison goal.

Girls Hockey.

Buffalo 1, Anoka 1. Avery Corbin scored the lone Bison goal in the tie, as Olivia Nedved was outstanding in the nets for Anoka, stopping 38 of 39 shots.

Osseo 2, Delano 1. Sydney Connor gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead, but the Orioles rallied for the win on Saturday.

Boys Swim and Dive.

Monticello took home the Panther Invite at Spring Lake Park on Saturday, as Sam Martin won the 50 free and the 100, 200 Free Team of (Lincoln Heckendorf, Carter Suchlow, Marvin Tapez Dominquez and Martin) also took home first at the event.

Girls Basketball.

Buffalo 87, Rogers 85. Brianna Eggers went coast to coast and hit the game winning shot at the buzzer as the Bison won on the road on Monday night. Kherington Braun added 25 for Buffalo, while Reese Millerbernd had 17 for Buffalo.

Monticello 63, Delano 53. Samantha Voll scored 32 points as the Magic erased a two-point halftime deficit and outscored Delano, 40-28 in the second half. Abbie Pietila (19 points.) and Lexi Champeau (17) where the high scorers for the Tigers.

BBBE 65, Maple Lake 39.

Norwood YA 64, Dassel-Cokato 59.

Annandale 80, Foley 59. Colton Purcell (27 points.), Ben Walter (19), Gabe Westman (17) and Owen Pederson (14), scored 77 of the Cards 80 points in their road win on Monday night.

Boys Basketball.

Annandale 80, Rockford 60. Colton Purcell scored 30 points as the Cards pulled away from the Rockets on Tuesday. Ian Faber was the top scorer for Rockford with 22.

Wayzata 91, Buffalo 60. Christian Wiggins, an Iowa St. recruit, scored 28 as the Trojans blew by the Bison in a battle of two top 10AAAA teams on Tuesday. Eli Hegle paced the Bison with 18 points.

Eden Prairie 76, STMA 56. Cail Jahnke (14 points.), and Tenlee Egen (12) were the top two leading scorers for STMA on the night.

North Wright County 3, Eden Prairie 2. Charlotte Heckendorf, scored the game winning goal, as the River Hawks scored the first three goals of the game, before holding off the Eagles. McKenna Sale stopped 37 of 39 shots in the NWC win.

Hutchinson 3, Litchfield DC 1.

Monticello 4, Orono 1. Nicklas Nelson had two goals for the Moose.

Mound 4, Litchfield DC 3. Brett Janckila had a goal and an assist in the loss for the Dragons.

Delano 9, Hutch 0. Daniel Halonen registered six points on the night, with three goals and three assists for Delano.

Girls Basketball.

Delano 58, Elk River 54. The Tigers won a big matchup over the Elks on Wednesday night, as Abby Pietila scored 23 points with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.

Thursday, January 8th.

Boys Hockey.

STMA 2, Edina 1. Braylon Maciej scored the tying goal for the Knights in the third period, and Braeden Waller the game winner at the 16:56 mark of the third period as the Knights upset #3AA Edina at home on Tuesday night. For STMA, it was their eigth straight win.

Mahtomedi 5, Delano 3. #3A Delano and #8A Mahtomedi went head-to-head on Thursday night, and the Tigers held a 2-1 lead going into the third period. In the third the Zephyrs erupted for four goals and walked away with a 5-3 win. Brady Kangas had a goal and an assist for the Tigers.

Monticello 5, Becker 1. Ashton Stoll netted two goals and added two assists in the Moose win.

Wayzata 8, Buffalo 2. The Trojans put the game away early with a five goal first period in Plymouth.

Eden Priarie 1, Buffalo 1. Sienna Dixon scored the game tying goal as the Bison tied the Eagles on Thursday.

Hutch 3, Litchfield DC 1. Lydia Schultz scored the first goal of the game for LDC, but the Tigers scored the final three.

Hopkins 101, STMA 56. Despite 25 points from Cail Jahnke, the Knights were no match for the Royals on Thursday night, as Hopkins had five players score in double figures.

Rockford 60, Sauk Rapids Rice 55.

Watertown Mayer 67, Annandale 45.

Buffalo 76, Eden Prairie 60. Thomas Jordan (20 points.) and Eli Hegle (19) combined for 39 points in the win, as the Bison put on an impressive display of basketball Thursday.

Gymnastics.

Monticello 146.0, Big Lake 137.1. Lauren Hanson (37.3), Keatyn Nowacki (36.6) and Alana Beckland (36.0) were the top three finishers at the meet, all from Monticello.
