Annandale Woman Killed in a Thursday Afternoon Car vs. Semi Crash

The names of those involved in a Thursday afternoon car vs. semi crash have been released.

As reported on Friday, a Ford Fusion was eastbound while a Freightliner semi was westbound on Highway 55 at Reardon Ave. NW, just west of South Haven, when the vehicles collided.

Killed in the crash was the driver of the Ford Fusion:  63-year-old Bette Louise Nelson of Annandale.  Injured was the driver of the Freightliner semi: 57-year-old Steven Wade Johnson of Hastings and a passenger: 46-year-old Curtis William Watkins of South St. Paul.  The two occupants of the semi were brought to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts, while the passenger in the Freightliner was not.  Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, South Haven Fire Department, and Allina Ambulance assisted State Troopers.
