A house fire this week in neighboring Meeker County resulted in the deaths of two people.
J. P. Cola reports…
“The Litchfield Fire Department says at 2:12 AM Monday they were called to a home in the 400 Block of South Austin Avenue. The house and attached garage were a total loss, and the bodies of Gregri Johnson and Barbara Johnson, both 73, were found inside. The incident is currently under investigation by the Litchfield Police and Fire Departments, State Fire Marshals’ Office, and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. I’m J.P. Cola.”
The Litchfield Fire Department responded to the fire with assistance from the Grove City and Dassel Fire Departments, Litchfield Police and Rescue Squad, Mayo Ambulance, and the Meeker County Sheriff’s Department.
