Utility Officials Say No Major Problems Encountered This Winter With Propane Supplies

Utility officials say there haven’t been any major spikes in propane prices in Minnesota this winter.

Dave Wager of the Minnesota Propane Association says there are a lot ways to purchase propane…

“The consumers can use pre-buys to lock in their price. They can do the same with budget plans. They have options between scheduled delivery or will call where they monitor their tank. Wholesale prices have been relatively stable.”

Wager says Minnesota has also avoided propane supply issues for most of the heating season…

We had some problems probably in southern Minnesota more than anywhere else with a lot of icy gravel roads that slowed things down a little bit. But all in all it’s been going pretty good. I haven’t heard of any serious issues from my members.”

Around 12 percent of Minnesota households use propane to heat their homes.
