One Driver Dead, Another Injured in Pickup vs. SUV Crash in Neighboring Stearns County

One driver was killed, another was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday afternoon in neighboring Stearns County.

The State Patrol reports that shortly after 3 PM Tuesday, a Ford F-150 pickup was westbound on Stearns County Road 146 while a Ford Expedition SUV was northbound on State Highway 15. Officials say the vehicles collided at the intersection.

The driver of the pickup, 84-year-old Manford Iverslie of Rockville, Minnesota was killed in the crash.

The driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Kristin Vanvleet of St. Augusta, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the St. Cloud Hospital. A 7-year-old female passenger in the Vanvleet vehicle was not injured.

Despite wintery weather conditions earlier in the day, officials report that roads were dry, and weather was not a factor in the fatal crash.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Watkins, South Haven and Kimball Fire Departments, and Mayo EMS teams assisted the State Patrol.
