Throughout the month of March, the American Red Cross is offering free A1C testing when donating blood, plasma, or platelets.
“We know that millions of adults in the U.S. are living with un-diagnosed pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. And these conditions can often develop into more serious health complications if they go untreated.”
Red Cross Spokeswoman Sue Thesenga says findings show that one-in-five donors have pre-diabetic or diabetic levels.
