Two Injured in Early Morning Crash Monday in Maple Lake

Two drivers were injured in a near head-on collision early Monday morning in Maple Lake.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that just after 6 AM, an eastbound Chevy Suburban collided with a westbound Chevy Blazer on Highway 55 near the intersection with County Road 7.

Authorities say the driver of the Blazer, 32-year-old Benjamin Lacina of Elk River sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital. The driver of the Suburban, 47-year-old David Clapp of Annandale, had minor injuries that did not require transport.

Officials say roads were snow and ice covered at the time of the crash.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the Maple Lake Fire Department, and Allina EMS assisted at the scene.
