Youngster Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Elk River

A youngster was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday morning in Elk River.

The State Patrol investigated the crash that happened around 7:45 AM on U-S Highway 10 at Kelly Farm Road in Elk River.

Officials say a Hyundai SUV was eastbound on Highway 10 when it collided with a Tesla passenger car that was exiting Kelly Farm Road onto Highway 10.

The driver of the SUV, 41-year-old Kevin Craft of Elk River was not injured, but a 7-year-old male passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Authorities say the youngster was using a seat belt.

The driver of the Tesla vehicle, a 57-year-old man from Ramsey, was not injured.

The Elk River Police and Fire Departments assisted.
