Officials at the Wright County Household Hazardous Waste & Recycling site have announced that the have a variety of free items available for spring cleaning and spruce-up.
Just in time for spring cleaning, home projects, and summer preparations, paints, cleaners, pool chemicals, adhesives, and stains are being offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
With spring here, the site is also accepting brush, leaves and grass clippings. You should bring a valid ID to verify residency. Hours of operation are 8 AM to 12 noon Mondays and 8 AM to 5 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The HHW site is currently accepting household hazardous waste, electronics (some items may have fees), oil, antifreeze, oil filters, used cooking grease, and up to 1 cubic yard of curbside recycling at no charge and without appointments.
The current HHW temporary site is at 5538 85th Street Northwest in Maple Lake.
Officials say they anticipate opening the new building later this year at its original location off County Road 37 in Monticello Township with expanded services and accepted items.
