Tax Filing Deadline Two Weeks Away

The deadline to file your state and federal income taxes is now just two weeks away.

State Revenue Commissioner Paul Marquart says filing in the last few weeks has been steady…

We’ve had right now 1.6 million returns filed, and that’s about half of what we’re going to expect. We’ll wind up with about 3.1 million. So that’s right on track with other years.”

Marquart urges all Minnesota taxpayers to file electronically…

It’s the most convenient way to file your taxes. It’s the most secure way, and it’s the quickest way to get a refund back is again, to file electronically and then take direct deposit.”

Marquart says those who are due a refund from the state have been receiving them in about nine days on the average.

The deadline to file your state and federal taxes is Wednesday, April 15th.
