Health experts are encouraging people to become organ donors during National Donate Life Month.
Matt McCauley is a transplant doctor at UW Health…
“My first message to everyone is to assume that you’re going to be eligible. The medical history, the clinical situations that we will consider someone to be an organ donor are rapidly evolving. Age, medical history, all of these things we take into consideration, but aren’t necessarily going to be a barrier for a huge, huge majority of folks.”
There’s roughly 2,200 people waiting for an organ in Minnesota. You can find more info on becoming an organ donor by visiting: www.life-source.org.
