A St. Augusta woman was killed in a rollover crash near Fairhaven Township on Sunday evening.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, an SUV driven by 16-year-old Gavin Timmers of St. Augusta was westbound on County Road 44 near the intersection with County Road 7 when he collided with a northbound pickup truck, driven by 42-year-old Katie Payne of Maple Lake, causing the SUV to roll. The accident occurred at around 7:20 PM.
The SUV was carrying five passengers. One of those passengers, 56-year-old Tina Timmers, died at the scene. The driver of the SUV and the other passengers, ranging in age from 15 to 79 years, along with Payne, were all taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with various injuries.
