County Profiles Show A Great Need for Affordable Housing

A stable home anchors strong communities and economic opportunity, but new research from the Minnesota Housing Partnership shows that affordable housing is becoming increasingly out of reach for Minnesotans across the state.

MHP spokeswoman Gabriela Norton says in most counties, renters are having the greatest difficulty in making ends meet…

In all 87 counties, at least one in four renters are cost-burdened or paying more than they can afford on housing. And in 20 counties around the state, over 50% of renters are burdened.”

In the newest county-by-county profiles from the Minnesota Housing Partnership, 41 percent of all renters in Wright County are said to be cost-burdened.
