Work is continuing this week on the major railroad crossing at Highways 25 and 55 in Buffalo. The crossing has been closed to traffic since Monday for repairs on a number of issues.

KRWC’s Kendell Kubasch talked with a Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway foreman on the project and what crews are working on…
“We had some signal issues due to improper drainage, just over time. Now we’re working on repairing that drainage and then repairing the road so it’s a smoother crossing for pedestrians and safe to travel.”
The work is being done while trains continue to travel through the area. Work officials say that takes a coordinated effort…
“…Trains have to contact me before they come within those limits. That way I’m able to clear men out so we’re all clear, safe and then the train will come through.”
The work foreman says that the work is progressing on time, and should be completed by Friday.
