A newly formed organization called the Community Collections Collaborative, or C3 for short, will host the first of four events in 2026 on Thursday in Buffalo.

Mykelti Blum, Communications and HR Support Specialist with the City of Buffalo describes the unified goals of “C3”…

Really the heart behind this collaborative was…there were different entities. It was the City of Buffalo, Great River Regional Library, the Community Education group, and Wright County Parks and Recreation. And it sounded like right around 2024, they all sat together and said, we’re all trying to do the same thing here, why don’t we just work together? So they got together, made this collaborative, they meet monthly to brainstorm to make these events work..….and so this is kind of that next step in the initiative. That next piece that is this tangible action step.”

Blum says the topics of the four planned events and discussions for 2026 will vary greatly, but will all follow the same general style and format…

This series is going to be four different events throughout the year. Anybody can come. Each with the intent to educate our community on how things work behind the scenes.”

The first of the four collaborative events for the year will focus on “Building A Community.” The first event is scheduled for Thursday, May 14th from 6 to 8 PM at the new Buffalo Community Center.

A panel of local individuals, city and or county staff, and elected officials will discuss the topic, and will answer questions from the public.

Registration is not required, but officials say a general idea of how many people will be attending will be helpful for planning for accommodations and refreshments.
