Cokato Golf Course Offering $2000 Reward After Vandals Cut Down Century-Old Tree

The Cokato Town and Country Golf Course is offering a $2000 reward for information on a vandalism incident that resulted in a nearly 100-year-old tree being cut down.

The incident happened sometime overnight between Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th.  According to Cokato Town and Country Club Manager Tiffany Frieler, neighbors reported hearing noises on the golf course at around 2 AM early Saturday morning…

“We had one report that they had heard a truck, seen a truck, and then they had heard a chainsaw, but it was so fast that there wasn’t much we could do.”

She stated that the golf course is offering a $2000 reward for information that leads to the prosecution of the perpetrator(s)…

“Right now, we do have a two thousand dollar reward set for someone that helps lead to finding who did this.”

Authorities ask that anyone with information on this act of vandalism contact the Wright County Sheriff’s Office at (763) 682-1162.
