A late Wednesday evening car crash claimed the lives of two people.
The fatal crash occurred on Highway 22 at 180th Street in Greenleaf Township, south of the city of Litchfield. According to the State Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north when it left the roadway and rolled, coming to rest in the ditch. Both the driver and lone passenger in the car were killed in the crash.
The names of those involved will be released at 10 PM on Friday. According to the official report, at least one of the people killed were not wearing their seatbelt.
The incident remains under investigation. Assisting the State Patrol were Meeker COSO, Litchfield Fire and Police, Mayo Ambulance, Cosmos Ambulance, Allina Ambulance, and Life Link.
