New High for MN High School Graduation Rate

New state data shows Minnesota’s on-time high school graduation rate has reached an all‑time high, with almost 85 percent of the Class of 2025 earning diplomas.

State Education Commissioner Willie Jett says another tool that will help improve overall outcomes is data from compiling course-taking data…

“That looks at the entirety of a student’s K through 12 school career. So this data will help Minnesotans track which courses schools are offering and give us additional data on how students are progressing toward graduation.”

Education leaders credit stronger student engagement and school support, but they say gaps remain, especially for English learners and students facing ongoing disruptions. Officials say the challenge now is making sure that these gains last.
