Monday, May 18th.

Girls Softball.

Section 5AA First Round.

#11 Watertown Mayer 12, #6 Maple Lake 4. The Irish defeated the Royals, 12-11 in the last game of the regular season, but the Royals got revenge and knocked out the Irish in the first round of sections on the road on Monday.

#12 Spectrum 4, #5 Howard Lake WW 0. The Sting, the defending section champs, came in as a #12 seed this season, but upset the Lakers ending their season on Monday, with the 4-0 shutout win.

#3 Annandale 15, #14 Legacy 0. The Cards were the only higher seeded team to win a first-round game in the Section with a cakewalk in four innings over the Lions.

Boys Volleyball. (Still regular season.)

STMA 3, Anoka 2. The Knights rallied from a 2-1 deficit, and came back to win the final two games, 25-17, and 15-11 to take the match on Monday night.

Boys Lacrosse. (Still regular season.)

Maple Grove 11, Buffalo 10. The Crimson scored three goals in the final minute to shock the Bison on Monday night. Brevan Schauer, and Thomas Munger each scored three goals in the Bison loss.

Baseball. (Still regular season.)

STMA 17, Buffalo 7. Grady Johnson went 3-4 at the plate with a single, double and home run as the Knights blew past the Bison on Monday night. Johnson finished with five RBIs in the win for STMA. Cash Hourscht hit a two-run home run in the 6th for Buffalo, his first career home run.

Cannon Falls 8, Rockford 3. Micah Nelson hit a double and a home run, while driving in two runs in the Bombers win over Rockford. Owen Shuster went 3-4 with a double in the loss for Rockford.

Delano 10, Southwest Christian 4

Girls Track and Field.

The Delano girls took third place at true team state this past weekend

Girls Golf.

Delano finished fourth at the Wright County Conference meet on Monday afternoon. Brynn Spanier was named Wright County All Conference after the meet for Delano.

Tuesday, May 19th.

Girls Softball.

Section 8AAAA.

#6 STMA 10, #3 Monticello 0. Addie Byer went 2-3 with a two-run home run, and Stella Maulik threw a two hitter as the Knights beat the Magic in six innings.

Section 5AAA.

#2 Delano 25, #7 Park Center 2. The Tigers scored 20 runs or more for the fourth time in six games as they rolled in the first round at home.

Delano, above, is red hot as it enters the Section 5AAA playoffs, winning nine of their last ten games.

Section 5AA.

#1 Rockford 4, #5 Glencoe SL 0. Lilly Bury tossed a shutout in the Rockets win over the Panthers on Tuesday.

#3 Annandale 2, #11 Watertown Mayer 1. The Cards held on at home in the Quarterfinals.

Section 5AAA.

#2 Maple Grove 7, #7 Buffalo 0.

Section 5AAA.

Dassel-Cokato went 1-1 in their first two games at Sections. The Chargers opened with a 9-0 win over ACGC, but then lost to #2 seed New London Spicer, 1-0 in the next round. The Chargers will now play Saturday, needing to win two to stay alive.

Boys Lacrosse. (Regular season still)

Delano 12, Monticello 5.

Girls Lacrosse. (Regular season still)

Delano 19, Monticello 5. Livvy Thomas finished with eight points, scoring three goals with five assists, as Delano improved to 10-2.

Delano, above, improved to 10-2 with a dominant win over Monticello on Tuesday night.

Baseball. (Regular season still.)

Monticello 6, St. Cloud 1. Carter Anderson went 3-4 at the plate with two RBI’s and also picked up the win on the mound, pitching six innings and striking out 10 in the Magic win. Dom Marschall also hit a home run as the Magic improved to 16-3.

The Monticello baseball team, above, won their second straight Mississippi 8 conference championship this season.

STMA 5, St. Cloud 3.

Buffalo 12, Sartell 2. Will Miriovsky picked up his first varsity win on the mound for Buffalo on Tuesday.

Tyson Moore, above swinging, watches a home run leave the park in their loss to Monticello on Saturday. Moore is tied for the state lead with 5 home runs this spring.

Maple Lake 16, Kimball 7.

Wed, May 20th.

Baseball (Still regular season.)

Annandale 7, Zimmerman 6. The Cards led 6-0 until the sixth inning when the Thunder scored six to tie it, but Austin Politte hit a two out RBI single to left to rescue the Cards on Wed afternoon. Jack Newman, and Kane Fobbe each had two hits for the Cards, and Luke Lindquist came out of the pen to get the win for Annandale.

Wayzata 3, STMA 2.

Edina 7, Buffalo 0. Kaden Kimes hit a three run home run, and Chase Bjorgaard hit a solo home run as the Hornets shut out the Bison on Wed night.
