One Injured in Six Vehicle Pileup in Monticello

One person was injured when six vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash Saturday morning in Monticello.

The State Patrol reports that around 11:20 AM, all six vehicles were southbound on Highway 25 when they collided near the intersection with 7th Street West in Monticello.

The driver of a Mitsubishi SUV, 46-year-old Yamah Thomas of Big Lake sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Monticello Hospital.

The driver of a Ram pickup, 27-year-old Timothy Uphoff of Big Lake, a 40-year-old man from Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin who was driving a GMC pickup, a 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Little Falls who were in a Chevy Suburban, the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse SUV, 20-year-old Nicholas Folsom of Clear Lake, and the driver of a GMC Acadia SUV, 57-year-old Michael Welle, and a passenger 59-year-old Sandra Welle, both of Monticello, all escaped injury.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office and CentraCare Ambulance assisted State Troopers at the scene.
