The north end of the Highway 25 detour and closure between Buffalo and Monticello will shift beginning today (Tuesday) as the new roundabout opens at CSAH 37.
The new detour route will use Highway 55 in Buffalo to CSAH 12, to CSAH 37 Northeast through the new roundabout, then to County Road 117 or Edmonson Avenue NE to School Boulevard in Monticello.
Officials say access will continue to be maintained and open for those who live, work or visit those within the closed work zone; however, motorists can expect segments of temporary hard closures at times. Drivers are asked to follow local signage and plan for extra travel time.
Throughout the summer, crews will rebuild and recycle the road surface using Stabilized Full Depth Reclamation, which requires deep excavation and large equipment. The road will remain closed to through traffic until late October.
