A DFL’er from Elk River will run for the Minnesota Senate District 30 seat.
Leah Temple is the DFL-endorsed candidate for the seat currently held by Republican Eric Lucero of St. Michael.
Temple, a software developer and certified birth doula is making her first run for public office. She and her husband and two children live in Elk River. Temple says she is excited for the chance to serve Minnesota families and parents in new ways through work in the state senate.
For his part, GOP Senator Eric Lucero is seeking his second term in the Minnesota Senate, after serving in the Minnesota House from 2015 to 2022.
