A funeral Mass is scheduled for today (Friday) in St. Michael for a lifelong resident of the community, and a well-known community volunteer.
James “Jim” Hackenmueller passed away at his home June 7th at the age of 88.
Jim was a 1957 graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School. After high school, he proudly served in the U-S Army Reserves from 1959 to 1965.
Jim worked as a machinist before beginning his career as a construction superintendent with M. A. Mortenson Construction. He served for 35 years until his retirement in 2003.
Jim and his wife, Sharon raised their family in St. Michael, where Jim was a 20-year volunteer with the St. Michael Fire Department, a former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of the St. Michael Catholic Church, where the funeral Mass will be held today (Friday).
