Fireworks to Highlight Friday Buffalo Days 2026 Events

Buffalo Days moves into the big events of the weekend today.

The carnival continues at Sturges Park with a wristband night from 12 noon to 10 PM. Other events include the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge and a Mario Cart Tournament at the new Buffalo Community Center.

The KRWC Road Show with games and prizes begins at 7:30 at the downtown SplashPad.

The beer garden opens at 6 PM at Sturges Park, with entertainment from Chopper at 8 PM at the Sturges Park Bandshell. The highlight of the evening will be the annual Buffalo Days fireworks display, held rain or shine at 10 PM over Buffalo Lake. Buffalo Chamber of Commerce President Sue Olmscheid says the tradition brings together many generations of residents and visitors…

The big event is fireworks so again, hope for good weather and a good show there, always a fun thing. Thanks to our local American Legion Post for really providing the bulk of the funds to show those. But some great gold and silver sponsors as well from people in our community.”

For residents and visitors who are making plans to take in the Buffalo Days Parade Saturday evening, the Chamber has a reminder about the change in this year’s route…

Because of construction down 1st Avenue, we’re changing the parade. We did it once in 2015 and it worked, so we’re doing it again. Staging will be the same, it will be up on 5th Street the same, but cross over Highway 25, so go down another block versus heading south on 1st Avenue. Then it will go to 1st Avenue Northwest, which is in the neighborhood. Then you take a left on 8th Street by Perkins…so the main, longest part of the parade will be from Perkins on up to just beyond The Glenn.”
