A lifelong Annandale area man and longtime businessman from the area will be remembered at Memorial Services today (Monday).
James “Jim” Ledwein passed away June 29th at the age of 83.
Jim grew up in Annandale and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1962. He and his wife, Jean, made their home in Annandale, and raised their family there.
Jim worked for his father for several years at Frank’s Bait Shop & Ledwein Wholesale Bait before eventually purchasing the business. In 1981, he sold the minnow business, but continued selling other types of bait until 1993.
After selling the bait shop, Jim worked in carpentry, and truck driving. He was also a member of the Annandale Fire Department for more than 20 years.
Jim’s family says he continued to enjoy fishing and hunting throughout his life, and even after getting out of the bait business, his enthusiasm for trapping minnows stayed with him until the end.
