Three people were injured when an SUV collided with a mini-van Thursday morning in the community of Litchfield in neighboring Meeker County.
The State Patrol reports that the crash happened around 10:35 AM on U-S Highway 12 and State Highway 24.
Officials say a Chrysler Pacifica mini-van was north and westbound on Highway 12, while a Chevy Trailblazer SUV was attempting to turn left to go south and eastbound on Highway 12 when the vehicles collided.
Three people in the SUV were injured. The driver, 80-year-old Virginia Evensen of Mora, and two passengers, 82-year-old Dee Kuehn of VanCleave, Mississippi, and 85-year-old Annabell Larsen of Willmar, all sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. The driver of the mini-van, 81-year-old Stephen Mattson of Willmar, was not injured.
The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, the Litchfield Police and Fire Departments, and Mayo EMS assisted State Troopers at the crash scene.
