One Injured in SUV vs. Boom Truck Crash in Meeker County

The driver of an SUV was injured Thursday afternoon in a crash with a boom truck in neighboring Meeker County.

The State Patrol says the incident happened just before 1 PM Thursday on U-S Highway 12 at 560th Avenue in Acton Township. Officials say both vehicles were westbound on Highway 12 when they collided.

The driver of the SUV, 29-year-old Willow Sturtz of Paynesville sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was treated at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.

The driver of the Freightliner boom truck 26-year-old Jared Scholz of Litchfield, and a passenger, 34-year-old Nathan Glmsdal of Litchfield, were not injured.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, the Grove City Fire Department, and Mayo EMS assisted at the scene.
