“Night to Unite” Tuesday, August 4th

Next Tuesday, August 4th, the annual “Night to Unite,” formerly known as “National Night Out,” returns to our area.

Now in its 42nd year, the “Night to Unite” is an effort to increase the communication between communities and first responders – particularly law enforcement. The “Night to Unite” is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime programs.

In many communities, neighborhood block parties will be held, but participation can be as simple as turning on a porch light.

Throughout the country, millions of Americans will take part in this annual event. The community events typically are held between 5 PM and 8 PM.

Residents of Wright County area communities are urged to contact your local City Hall or Township Hall for details on any planned activities.
