A funeral Mass is planned for today (Tuesday) in Monticello for a longtime resident of the area and official with Family Youth Community Connections, or FYCC. Sandra “Sandy” Greninger of Otsego passed away July 28th at the age of 67 after complications stemming from surgery to battle her third cancer.
Sandy grew up in the Monticello area, and graduated from Monticello High School. She and her husband, Chuck, raised their family in and around the St. Michael and Otsego area.
Sandy will be remembered for her 26 years with FYCC. During that time, she served the communities of St. Michael, Albertville and beyond, organizing joint community programs, securing funding for at-risk youth, launching a community and senior theater program. During her time with FYCC, it grew to an organization that served some 12 thousand people a year through a food pantry, suicide prevention training, and after-school and family programs.
The funeral Mass for Sandra Greninger is planned for today (Tuesday) at St. Henry’s Catholic Church of Monticello. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to FYCC and the STMA Food Pantry.
