67th Annual Red Rooster Days Moves Into the Weekend in Dassel

One of the final community celebrations of the summer continues today in the community of Dassel in neighboring Meeker County.

The 67th Annual Red Rooster Days is continuing today (Saturday) with events that include a 7-mile and an 17-mile bike ride, Dassel native Shari Carlstead speaking at the Dassel History Center, a petting zoo, and the Grande Day Parade. A pie social and silent auction will follow the parade. Also following the parade, the Spin-tacular Basketball Show in front of the Dassel Elementary School. Other events of the day include waterball at 5 PM, and the Dassel Ambassador coronation will be held at 6 PM at the Saints Field.

Events continue through the weekend including a community worship service, fireworks, a classic car show, the Red Rooster Run / Walk, and the largest chicken bar-b-que in the state on Labor Day Monday.
