Wright County’s unemployment rate in August remained unchanged from July.
New statistics from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development shows that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment in August was 4.5 percent, unchanged from July, but up from the 3.8 percent rate of last August. The August jobless rate in the county in 2024 was 3.2 percent.
Even though the number of employed workers in Wright County was down by around 660 persons, the overall labor force was also down by roughly the same number, which resulted in no change in the monthly unemployment rate.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate last month was up a tenth of a point at 4.4 percent, and the U-S seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in August was 4.1 percent, unchanged from July.
