The Minnesota DNR says hunters can help to provide valuable information on more than just deer.
Research scientist Tyler Obermoller says the DNR’s annual observation survey tracks sightings of species including turkeys, bears, coyotes and bobcats…
“…allows us to just get some really nice quantification of what we’re seeing on the landscape. We can compare those year after year and see if we’re seeing some of those species more often in certain areas of the state. Is there different areas where species are showing up where they weren’t previously? So we’re able to get honestly a lot of really valuable information.”
More information on the survey can be found on the DNR’s website at; www.dnr.state.mn.us.
