The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Wright County Public Health, and MEADA, the Mentorship, Education, and Drug Awareness coalition will be hosting their annual prescription Drug Take Back Day later this month.
Saturday, October 24th, the Take Back Day event will be held at two locations, Coborn’s in Albertville (5698 La Centre Avenue), and Harvest Bank in Montrose (145 Nelson Boulevard) from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Those dropping off unwanted prescriptions are asked to keep the medication in the original container and peel off the label, or black-out identifying information. If the original container is unavailable, seal the medication in a resealable plastic bag. Vaping cartridges will be accepted if the battery is removed. This year, liquids will also be accepted in their original container, and sealed tightly to prevent spills.
The free event is designed to be a convenient way for residents to remove the risk of unused medications from cupboards, cabinets and drawers to protect family, friends and pets.
