Highway 25 From Buffalo to Monticello Now Open to Through Traffic

The summer-long construction on Highway 25 between Buffalo and Monticello is over, and the road is completely open to motorists.

MnDOT opened all seven miles of the State Highway from Catlin Street in Buffalo to Kjellberg Court in south Monticello on Friday afternoon. The roadway is open to traffic, though a few finishing items need to be completed, along with removal of remaining signs and traffic control devices.

The project restored the roadway through a recycling process that strengthens the pavement while reducing waste. Included in the overall project was drainage improvements, upgrades to several access points, plus the construction of three new single-lane roundabouts, at County Road 37, Catlin Street in Buffalo, and at County Road 113. Wright County constructed the roundabout at County Road 113 as a part of the overall improvements. The project also included new pedestrian sidewalks and a shared-use trail.

Officials are confident the driving public will notice the improvements to safety and traffic flow for residents, businesses and travelers throughout Wright County.

MnDOT and Wright County thank the public for their patience and support, which allowed the work to be completed in a single construction season.
