Minnesotans on Medicare Alerted to Watch for Plan Changes During Open Enrollment

Hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans on Medicare will need to review their coverage during this year’s open enrollment period.

Minnesota Board on Aging chair Maureen Schneider says significant changes will affect many beneficiaries in 2027…

“Of the 1.2 million Minnesotans who are on Medicare, over 390,000 are losing their Medicare Advantage for their Part D prescription drug plan, and they will need to review their options and select a new plan for 2027.”

Officials urge Medicare beneficiaries not to wait until the last minute to review their coverage options. Schneider says confusion is already widespread because of the number of insurance plan changes taking effect next year…

“The people that I’m talking to are already indicating that they’re confused and they’re afraid and they are looking for the right source of information that they can trust and know that someone is not trying to sell them something or it’s any kind of a scam.”

Open enrollment is underway now and goes through December 7th.
