The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is advising residents of Wright County, and particularly those who live in, or travel through Monticello, of an annual emergency drill today (Tuesday) at the Monticello Nuclear Power Generating Facility.
State, county and city agencies will be participating in the simulation from 8 AM to 5 PM. The drill simulates an emergency situation at the plant, and tests the response of agencies.
Officials stress that this is just a drill, and residents and motorists passing through the area who see a lot of activity at the plant during the day today don’t need to be alarmed.
