April is safe digging month, and Minnesotans are urged to remember the need to take the proper steps to safely dig in their yards to avoid striking underground utilities.
CenterPoint Energy Spokesperson Joshua Solis says not calling 811 ahead of time and taking the right precautions can lead to plenty of problems…
“Safe digging practices are required by state laws and help prevent damage to underground utility lines of all types. Digging without knowing the approximate location of underground utilities can result in serious injury, including death as well as service disruptions, fines and costly repairs.”
Tips for safe digging can be found by visiting CenterPoint Energy’s website, as well as at; www.dps.mn.gov.
