Assessor’s Department Releases Dates for Local Board of Appeal and Equalization

The Wright County Assessor’s Department has released the times and dates for the Local Boards of Appeal and Equalization meetings for the 17 cities and 18 townships in Wright County.

Officials say 13 cities and townships utilize an “open book” process, which means they can contact the Wright County Assessor’s Department to question their property valuations at any time between April 7 and April 30. The other 22 cities and townships have specific times and dates set for appeals to be heard.

Property owners who own property in a city or township that has a Local Board of Appeal and Equalization and wish to appeal the property value, please call the Assessor’s Office and speak to the appraiser in that city or township. If the property owner’s questions are not answered to their satisfaction, they may attend the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization at the place and time given at the bottom of the valuation notice. The property owner must have gone to the Local Board of Appeal meeting prior to being heard at the County Board of Appeal and Equalization, which will be conducted starting at 4 PM Monday, June 16th.
