The Big Lake Police Department is investigating a UTV side-by-side crash that happened early Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, officers responded to a crash at approximately 1:52 AM Tuesday morning at Lake Street and Washington Ave in the city of Big Lake. Upon arrival, officers observed a male individual walking outside of the UTV on the street. Another individual was still inside the vehicle and was partially pinned under the roof of the UTV. That individual was later taken to the hospital. The alleged driver sustained minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.
Officers observed signs of impairment on the alleged driver of the vehicle; that individual was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Criminal Vehicular Operation.
Since this is an open investigation, the names of the individuals involved have not been released at this time.
