A Wright County man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening in the Twin Cities.
The State Patrol reports that around 6:30 PM, a Harley-Davidson Street Glide cycle and a Toyota Tundra pickup were both westbound on Minnesota Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park, near the intersection with Highway 252.
Officials say the motorcycle went out control in the curve, striking the back of the pickup.
The cycle operator, 30-year-old Ryan Friedl of Buffalo sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale for treatment. Authorities say the man was not wearing a helmet. Officials reported that alcohol was involved, though they did not report whether or not that was a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota pickup was also from Wright County. 44-year-old Oleksandr Bak of Otsego, was not injured.
The Hennepin and Anoka County Sheriff’s Offices, Brooklyn Park Fire Department, and North Memorial and Allina EMS assisted State Troopers at the crash scene.
