A local woman was critically injured when a pickup truck and a classic car collided Memorial Day evening south of Buffalo.
The State Patrol reports that just before 8 PM Monday, a 1964 Chevrolet Impala was southbound on Highway 25 when it collided with a northbound Ford pickup at 20th Street in Rockford Township. Authorities say the classic car was attempting a left turn when the crash happened.
Injured in the crash was a passenger in the classic car, 79-year-old Joyce Rolstad of Buffalo. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The driver of the car, 81-year-old Duane Rolstad of Buffalo, was not injured. The crash report indicated that the Rolstads were not using seat belts. It is not clear whether or not seat belts were available in the classic car.
The driver of the Ford pickup, 46-year-old Abel Nazario, was not injured. The State Patrol did not list a city of address for the driver. Five passengers in the vehicle, ages 17 through 30, some of whom are residents of Howard Lake, all escaped injury.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office and Allina Air assisted at the crash scene.
