Buffalo Woman Dies in Truck vs. SUV Crash Near Winsted

A woman from Buffalo died in a two-vehicle traffic crash Tuesday morning near the community of Winsted.

The State Patrol reports that shortly after 8:30 AM, a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV collided with a Freightliner Straight Truck on Highway 7 in Winsted Township.

Authorities say the SUV was westbound, while the truck was eastbound when they collided at Cable Avenue.

Killed in the crash was the driver of the SUV, 63-year-old Melinda Koosman of Buffalo. The driver of the truck, 49-year-old William Dullinger of Oakdale, was not injured.

Icy roads causing slippery driving conditions on Tuesday were a likely factor in the crash according to the State Patrol.

The Winsted Police Department, McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lester Prairie Fire Department all assisted the State Patrol at the crash scene.
