Celebration of Life Friday for Longtime Buffalo Businessman, Richard “Dick” Stevens

A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday in Buffalo for a lifelong area resident, longtime businessman and sports enthusiast.

Richard “Dick” Stevens passed away December 18th at the age of 90.

Dick graduated with the Buffalo High School Class of 1953. He was a noted athlete playing baseball and football, and in his senior year was a member of the only Buffalo football team to go undefeated, and un-scored upon.

He was a veteran of the U-S Army, and served in Germany beginning in 1959.

After his service, Dick and his wife, Mary raised their family in Buffalo, where Dick worked with the family business, Stevens Well Company, and played for the Buffalo townball baseball team. He would go on to be involved in developing Buffalo’s youth Little League baseball, and Little Guys youth football programs.

Dick and Mary bought out Stevens Well in 1994, changing the name slightly to Stevens Drilling and Environmental. He enjoyed working his wife and family members.

Visitation for Dick Stevens will be held this evening (Thursday) from 4 to 8 PM at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, with a Celebration of Life planned for Friday from 2 to 4 PM at the Buffalo American Legion.
