A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday for a Monticello-Big Lake area man who passed away in early October as the result of a boating accident on the Mississippi River.

28-year-old Tyler Tasche of Big Lake passed away October 7th when the boat that he and two other men were fishing from overturned on the Mississippi River near the Monticello nuclear power generating facility.

You may remember that Xcel workers reportedly pulled Tyler to the shore where lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. A family dog also drowned in the incident.

The two other men, 66-year-old Mark Tasche, and 18-year-old Tristan Tasche, Tyler’s grandfather and younger brother, made it to shore safely.

Tyler is survived by his wife, Gaby, and four young children, as well as many relatives in the area.

The Celebration of Life for Tyler Tasche will be held Sunday, November 2nd from 12 noon to 4 PM at the Monticello VFW.
