Clear Lake Youngster Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Big Lake

A youngster from our region was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday morning in the community of Big Lake.

The State Patrol reports that around 7:45 AM Wednesday, a passenger car and a pickup truck collided on eastbound Highway 10 in Big Lake.

Authorities say the Toyota Prius and the Ford F-150 pickup were both traveling east on Highway 10 when they collided near the intersection with Sherburne County Road 43.

The driver of the passenger car, a 23-year-old man from Circle Pines was not injured, but a passenger in the car, identified as 11-year-old Ryan Defoe of Clear Lake, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Monticello Hospital. The driver of the pickup, a 48-year-old man from Sauk Rapids, was not injured.

The Big Lake Police Department assisted State Troopers.
