A Des Moines, Iowa man is set to make a court appearance today (Monday) on charges stemming from a recent police chase in Monticello.

33-year-old Colby Hoover was arrested in the early morning hours of June 14th after a wild incident where he allegedly attempted to escape the State Patrol.

The criminal complaint says Hoover led a State Trooper on a chase through downtown Monticello that included jumping medians, speeding across the Mississippi River bridge and eventually crashing before fleeing on foot.

A manhunt that included a K-9 unit led to the man’s arrest. No other vehicles were involved in the eventual crash, and no injuries were reported.

Hoover faces a felony charge of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, and two lesser charges of 4th degree DWI and fleeing a peace officer on foot.

The Iowa man has been held at the Wright County Jail.
