Despite Recent Bump, Labor Day Gas Prices Still Down From Last Year

Tens of thousands of Minnesotans are on the road this Labor Day weekend.

Despite a recent bump in gas prices due to flooding at a Midwest refinery, gas prices around Minnesota are still down from the Labor Day holiday period last year.

Triple A reports the current statewide average price for a gallon of unleaded is $3.05. Last year, gas prices were running around $3.18 per gallon, while prices were at $3.65 per gallon over the Labor Day holiday in 2023.

Gas prices around the Twin Cities metro area are running around $3.05 per gallon, while in Wright County, the average is at $3.03 per gallon.
