Damage was extensive from a structure fire late Thursday morning in the City of Waverly.
You may remember that the Wright County Sheriff’s Office reported that shortly after 10:30 AM on March 27th, a caller reported the fire at 209 Pacific Avenue in Waverly. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the large warehouse type structure just off Highway 12 in Waverly was involved in the blaze. The affected building was located directly behind the former Eddie’s Ford building on Highway 12.

Authorities say initial information indicated that a box truck that was inside the building appeared to have started on fire. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle fully engulfed, and the building and its contents sustained heavy damage. Highway 12 was closed off to thru traffic while fire crews from Waverly, Montrose, Howard Lake and Cokato battled and contained the blaze.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
