Don’t forget to “fall back” tonight (Saturday).
Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday morning at 2 AM, and our part of the country will return to Central Standard Time.
Many electronic devices such as phones and computers automatically will make the switch, but make sure to manually set any standard, battery operated clocks back one hour prior to turning in for the night tonight (Saturday) to avoid being extra-early for any Sunday activities.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Red Cross say the weekend that we set clocks back also works great for remembering the importance of changing the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in our homes. Everyone is also encouraged to do a manual test of those safety items.
Experts say if you haven’t already done so, it’s also an excellent time to schedule a yearly furnace inspection and tune-up.
