The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is stressing the importance of shopping local during the month of February.
Commissioner Matt Varilek says February has been designated “Shop Local, Stand Together” Month…
“We are hearing from so many business owners, in addition to workers themselves, but about how the federal actions taking place in Minnesota right now are not only having big human impacts, but also big economic ones.”
Varilek says some businesses are seeing 70% drops in revenue or having to close. Some are comparing the impact to that seen during the COVID pandemic.
